Heather Bearden, LPC
Heather earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia in 1998. She began her professional career working in Human Resources and Training before pursuing her passion for counseling. In 2011, she received her Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Argosy University.
Heather is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS). She has extensive experience working with both teenagers and adults who are struggling with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and self-injurious behaviors. Her clinical focus also includes treating depression, grief, trauma, and anger management. In addition, she is passionate about helping clients strengthen interpersonal skills, improve communication, and develop assertiveness.
Her therapeutic approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills. She is also trained in trauma recovery models, allowing her to support clients in processing and healing from difficult life experiences.
In addition to her clinical work, Heather serves as a CPCS and enjoys mentoring interns and Associate Professional Counselors as they work toward licensure.
